A highly anticipated device like the Poco X2 was bound to see its fair share of leaks. And boy was this device leaked! The Poco X2 really does pack a lot. Especially for the price. Granted, it might not exactly live up to the Poco F1, especially looking at the internals but it holds its own. Also, the internals, while not the bleeding edge, is adequate for most tasks. While the Poco F1 ran on Qualcomm’s flagship chip at the time, the Snapdragon 845, the newly-launched Poco X2 comes with the Snapdragon 730G. The 730G is still a very capable chipset. Other headlining specs on this new Poco include a 120Hz display, a feature that has been thought to be reserved for the ultra-premium devices, or gaming phones. The Poco X2 also spots the Adreno 618 GPU for stellar gaming performance and fast UFS 2.1 internal storage. Powering this device is a hefty 4500mAh battery. This cell can be topped up quickly through a 27W Fast Charger.
Poco X2 Specs: Camera
The Pocophone F1 spotted the same camera sensor as the legendary Google Pixel 3 XL. With the right camera app, users were able to get stunning photos from the device. Poco X2 seeks to continue the same legacy. On the rear, the Poco X2 sports a total of four cameras — a 64MP Ultra high-resolution primary sensor, coupled with an 8MP ultra-wide sensor, a 2MP Depth Sensor and finally, a 2MP macro (2-10cm) sensor. How these will fair, we shall have to wait and see. Moving to the front sensor, there’s a dual-camera set-up embedded in a rectangular punch-hole at the top-right corner of the screen. The camera configurations are 20MP (primary sensor) and 2MP (Depth sensor) respectively.
Everything You Need, Nothing You Don’t
Don’t get the wrong idea; this device is not perfect. To hit the specific price point, it has to cut a few corners. Poco’s mantra is “Everything you need and nothing you don’t.” This implies that the device makes only the necessary sacrifices. The image above shows you the corners that the Poco X2 had to cut to allow for the aggressive pricing. For the most part, we agree with this list, although it would have been nice to get an OLED panel.
Availability & Pricing
The Poco X2 comes in three storage options, a 6GB RAM + 64 GB ROM base model, a 6+128GB option and an 8+256GB option. These are priced between $220 and $280. These will go on sale beginning in India from 11th February. Global availability remains unclear but if the Poco F1 is anything to go by, we should see it sell in more regions in the next few weeks. What do you think of the Poco X2 specs, features, and price? Do you see yourself buying this device when its available in the market?
